Chuck Norris wants his gun back.

@Spike20TRILLION Bofors did manufacture a 120 mm naval gun capable of 40 rounds per minute. Far from 220/min, but still pretty good.

HOLY SHIT!! i want to mount one on my car! bahahaha i wish!! why cant they give us weapons like this :(
-
@fogsvans2 So is the 3P round that it uses ;)

@bwhip You still need missiles for longer ranges. No one would actually use a 75 mm gun at maximum range. A 57 mm is just meant as an all around weapon system, you would have to be pretty dumb to use this weapon in all out war against an equal opponent.

The current USCG 378 foot High Endurance Cutters are armed with one 3 inch (75 mm approx.), two 25 mm and one 20 mm guns. Going to a 57 mm gun would be a downgrade, if you were comparing max bore size.
The USCG has a deep water mission which requires greater firepower than you would limit them to. They are serving in the Persian Gulf now and were in combat during Viet Nam.
