Recoded on October 20, 1968 at the University Of California - Berkeley's Greek Theater. The Dead had only been doing St. Stephen into The Eleven for about two months and they did it to perfection at the Greek Theater. Only the second Dead show at the Greek Theater and the last one until 1981.

  • beautiful. the best version of this pairing IMO is on the Live/Dead album, which is actually two dates spliced together. all the other spring '69 Fillmore West versions are sublime.
