When I told Billy Ruane I was writing a song about him in 1999 he said 'don't'. I complained: I already recorded a backing track & chorus vocals [I was in my mercifully brief Pro Tools newbie 'do everything in pieces' phase] & the hook was "Billy"! His reply: "Write about Billy Borgioli or Billy Loosigian! They deserve a song more!" To avoid offense, I wrote new verses about another individual but kept the chorus. Marco Giovino, now touring w/Robert Plant, drummed on the unreleased recording
