Joe Harvard Band in stealth mode during an in-store Benefit for Tribal Soundz, a cool world music and instrument store on E. Sixth St. in Manhattan's East Village that JH helped to create and co-owned until the current owner took over in 2000. Keith Monacchio and Jay Walker joining Joe, and Sarah Tomek on suitcase kick/salsa snare, dumbek and percussion.

  • This is from 2007 rent benefit @ Tribal Soundz on E 6th St, NYC. I was once one of 4 co-owners of the world music & instrument store, during the years I lived in the East Village & Brooklyn. Benefit held by Nora Balaban, nearly 5 years after she became a sole proprietor. Band that nite is: Jay Walker, bass. Sarah Tomek, dumbek, hand perc., Keith Monacchio acoustic & voc

  • When I told Billy Ruane I was writing a song about him in 1999 he said 'don't'. I complained: I already recorded a backing track & chorus vocals [I was in my mercifully brief Pro Tools newbie 'do everything in pieces' phase] & the hook was "Billy"! His reply: "Write about Billy Borgioli or Billy Loosigian! They deserve a song more!" To avoid offense, I wrote new verses about another individual but kept the chorus. Marco Giovino, now touring w/Robert Plant, drummed on the unreleased recording
