Just like any fad they simply capitalized on it and got the fame, money and girls that goes with it. Imagine if throughout time everyone dressed and acted the same...boring. We just need to embrace the variety that spices life.

every decade had their great bands, whether it was the 60's 70's,80's 90's or now..unfortunately today's Rock or metal or pretentious "punk" bands don't know what it's like to really be those bands because they never struggled to make it..all those genres of rock and the bands that emerged from them are working class, blue collar people & music, something today's suburban,raised in a gated community, "tough" tattoo clad wanna be's pussies wouldn't understand..cont..

As a professional musician and sound engineer these days, i feel compelled to say this to all who are bad mouthing these guys and bands with the hair, and gay pirate tights, blah blah, etc..Having seen this era as fledgling drummer back in high school,and then gigging professionally through out the "grunge" era,and as an open minded musician who loves everything from James Brown to Zeppelin, i have to say that you guys are uneducated in the ways of good music, no matter what era it's from..cont.
