This film is a follow-up film to the lab (which was a practice) this film was the final project. I shot on 16mm with a Canon Scoopic with 7265 B/W Reversal film.
The basic scenario for the final project was a person sits down with a letter, reads it, reacts to it, crumples it up and throws it away, gets up and leave. Now that was the scenario, my fellow students and I were allowed to change stuff, add stuff, whatever we did we needed to have match cuts. I added more than what was required.
A Brenton Thom film.

The alternating singles at the table could be edited down some. Handheld flashbacks with celestial music reminded me of The Thin Red Line. The movements are slow, which builds tension, and you're not afraid to get in there tight either.
