Notre Dame invites ardent pro-abortionist President Obama to commencement exercise

The Roman Catholic university Notre Dame in Indiana has invited President Barack Obama to speak at their commencement exercise on May 17, 2009, and receive an honorary degree. President Obama who supports abortion, late term abortions, infanticide, and embryonic stem cell research, runs afoul of Roman Catholic teachings.

To date out of all the Roman Catholic Bishops and Cardinals in the United States of America (USA), only four have public spoken out to express their displeasure. They are:

Bishop John DArcy of Fort Wayne / South Bend diocese in Indiana. Notre Dame is within this diocese and the Bishop said he would not be attending this commencement.

Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Phoenix, Arizona diocese.

Bishop Gregory Aymond of the Austin, Texas diocese.

Cardinal Daniel Cardinal DiNardo of the Galveston / Houston, Texas diocese.

Where are all the other Bishops and Cardinal in the United States on this issue? It is apparent we the lay people of the Catholic Church must write a letter to the Holy Father in the Vatican. Here is the Pope's address:

But why didn't Catholics go bonkers when Bush gave the commencement speech. As Texas governor, Bush had the highest death penalty orders in the history of the state of Texas. Last time I heard, the catholic church doesn't permit capital punishment as well as Abortion. Why the hypocrisy?

theres nothing wrong with early abortions because its only cells, not a propa baby yet, therefore it is only a form of contraception, not murder. how far back are we going to go with when life starts? conception? when sperm is produced. women have mentrul cycles, and have hunreds of periods in the life time, does that mean every woman is a mass murderer? or miscarriages, there is a 1/4 chance of your baby not having a misscarriage.

I agree with you; it's not just Obama. The so-called CON-servative politicians are just in it for political gain. From Reagan to Bush, they're all freemasons who talk of tolerance, as if that were something to be desired, and to them, that includes tolerance of abortion; perhaps not by their statements, but by their actions, or rather the lack thereof. Firstly, the University of Notre Shame is anything but Catholic, but then, the Pope and his henchman are anything but Catholic, so this should be no surprise. I'm so proud of the Notre Dame class of 2009, the leadership of the University and the President of the United States for the way they handled the attempt by so many to politicize the graduation ceremony. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

jimihendrix6908.....the anti-abortion crowd has caused many to get aborted due to their ridiculous stances on contraceptives and sex ed. It's all political or they'd actually become active in finding ways to reduce unwanted pregnancies and finding funding for the mother to carry the baby to birth. It wouldn't hurt to show they gave a damn about the living either.
