great work.
reminds me of a radio station in my town here in germany.
they make mixes like that in the 80's and 90's.
on weekend they make 4-6 hours of that mixes.
my youth.

So how come the voice sounds just like florian singing into a vocodor like he usually does?

it sounds nothing like that. there's no vocoder or any other effect involved, other than some reverb. the choir chord is played direct from the orchestron, with some reverb added, that's all. if i have time, i'll fire up my orchestron and make a youtube video demonstrating this. if you play the same voicing as they did, it sounds exactly like the kraftwerk record. btw, the orchestron choir was also used on "europe endless," where it plays a little melodic line.

i'm pretty bust at the moment, but i'll see what i can do. in the meantime, if you want a chance to find out for yourself, there's actually an orchestron listed on ebay this week- an extremely rare occurance. i think it's only the 2nd or 3rd one i've seen on ebay, and in the rare chassis design too... kraftwerk had the original, more common wood-grain model. it's item #290157002758.

Anyway thanks for educating me on the orchestron interesting kit , but what are the 'discs'? they look like vinyl records , how does that work then?

if you go to my website, linked in the info section on this page, you'll find out all about the optigan/orchestron/talentmaker. and yes, i guarantee, it's the orchestron alone on the kraftwerk tracks- no vocoder. sure, they use tons of vocoder in general, but not in conjunction with the orchestron choir sounds. btw, it's on the song "radioactivity" as well.
