Testing a brand new guitar for the first time. This guitar is carved from one single block of old growth mahogany. This whole guitar is one piece, no neck joint.
25-1/2" scale, african ebony fingerboard, Marchione custom pickups & bridge. French polish finish.
@wasky1 where the hell did you come up with that idiotic assumption?
His statements were the equivalent of saying a bird is the same as a snake or a cat is the same as a bird or a snake is the same as a cat with the logic being, well they're all living things!
Utter rubbish,
There are numerous construction methods, all sound and sustain distinctly different.
I own many of all.
Neck through being my favorite but, they generally get screwy warps after a year or so.

@JonDeth so basically you are saying your guitar will be more stable if you chop the neck off and glue it back on?

@elams1894 you mentioned every facet of construction when you made such a ridiculous and generalizing statement regarding the construction being the SAME STABILITY as any other construction technique. I did not even read past the first sentence of this post because it so patently incorrect and ignorant
Another equivalent to your broad yet specific statement is to say a bridge built with nothing but welds in contrast to an identical bridge fastened only with rivets are equals.
Nope! foot+mouth

@JonDeth - The integrity of the joint, being glued, screwed or otherwise was neither mentioned nor questioned. Your first comment advised viewers to be weary of neck through guitars because of twisting and peeling. I am merely suggesting that, in terms of wood stability, there is no reason for a neck through guitar to warp, twist or peel any more than a two piece guitar. I guess I'm kind of surprised that you had 4 that did. My comment was never meant to cause offense in any way.

@elams1894 I have owned about a dozen of them, they're not the same as your other building techniques and are not stable in the same ways. What a boldly ignorant statement! You are literally saying that gluing something together is the same as screwing it together, absolute B.S.
I prefer neck through but they are more temperamental to moisture and climate changes. I've seen many builds from huge commercial names warp within a few months of completion. They sound different, sustain different etc

@JonDeth - Neck through and 1 piece build techniques, when built with well seasoned, well sealed and properly dried quality wood have the same stability as any other build technique. Wood is wood and will move what ever the shape. The key thing is that the instrument should never be subjected to extreme conditions, the most important being changes in humidity. With a quality truss rod, there is no reason for a single piece instrument to move any more than a 2 piece.

Be weary of neck through guitars, they're very temperamental and delicate compared to other build techniques. I've had 4 of them that were very well made from great quality wood end up with twisted necks and peeling fretboards.
I believe this is why the build technique is less common.
