This is a reinvention of the books. It is called legend of the seeker not The Sword of Truth if you want the story as it is in the books read the books and if you want to see the images in the books come to life use your imagination this is a tv show and it stays loyal to the heart of the books as much as it can especially since it wasn't even on a network and the acting directing photography sets costumes music were all very epic I love this show for what it was not what people wanted it to be

@KLamki1 In the television series he never was a War Wizard, there wasn't a subtractive magic. So he was just a powerful wizard, regular magic. But he did give up his powers to Sister Nicci, and when she was resurrected, she still had them. I agree that getting your powers taken is the worst thing that could happen to a Wizard, possibly just short from being forced to where a Rada'Han your entire life.

@ZeddicusZulZorrandor im confused? does this mean richard has lost his powers and is no longer a war wizard? If that is the case, that sucks. Worst thing to happen to a wizard is getting your powers taken by a women or killed like Saruman the white by a mere mortal rat.

Why is it that Hollywood can get the look of Historical dramas right, but make shows with a fantasy concept look cheesy and cartoonish?

Sword of Truth? the show is a lie.

I'm sorry...but this is the stupidest and the worse thing that could ever have been done to terry goodkinds work...not happy. at all.

@adfowlkes71 in the show they did use two actresses, but only because in the show, Nicci was killed, which didn't happen in the books. The sisters of the Dark, used a magic that was able to place any spirit from the underworld directly into a body that still could be brought back with the breath of life, so they placed Nicci's spirit in A sister's body, then allowed a Mord-sith to resurrect her.
The fighting scenes in this show were so great!!!!

@AEFGOUGH i agree to a point the show was very good and if they had changed the names it would have amde a lovely show based on the world of the books
but saying its a show based on the books is a flat lie they dont follow the story line AT ALL
