Proof that Toothpaste works! (It also cleans off gel ink pen stains)

Original story: I got a gel ink stain on my macbook, and remembered that toothpaste cleans off ink stains, so I tried it on my macbook. Not only did the toothpaste clean the ink, it cleaned the discoloration off of my palmrest area on my macbook! The bottom of my macbook was also discolored, so I tried it on that: it works wonders! This video is proof.

  • I have two faint ink stains from a green I think sharpie marker, on my unibody white MacBook on the palm rests.

Do you think that toothpaste will work for it on my MacBook? Because it's kind of ugly and it's been getting a bit more noticable.

  • @A135S4656

I believe it would work--it's worth trying!

  • does the toothpaste matter? i used crest muti whiting mint toothpaste?

it got the stains off(palmrest stains) but do you think it would damage the plastic?

    Thank You

  • I don't believe the kind of toothpaste matters that much, so long as it works. I don't believe it will damage the plastic, but I don't know everything. Just so you don't clean your macbook every day with the stuff!

  • yo, does blue ink stains work here?

  • I'm 99% positive it will.

  • Don't do this! I practically ruined the finish on my macbook

  • Would that work for my beats by dr dre? I have a white pair and had left over ink on my fingers and it smudged all over. I tried cleaning it off by moistening my finger and it didn't work. Then I tried a little water, that didn't work either. Any suggestions beyond tooth paste?

  • iPaste ahhahahahhahahahahaha!

  • this worked like a charm for me. i didn't even use the same toothpaste, but it removed blue pen ink PERFECTLY from my white macbook. thanks :)

  • @PepitoIngles well most toothpastes have somewhat acidic chemicals in it , as for example if you use a "whitening" toothpaste which most likely has a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide , this acid "burns" of the stains off of your teeth , making them white again and stuff. Your macbook will indeed look white , but it will considerably be scratched if you look at it reeeeally closely and carefully. But it will protect it against cavities (haha) . :D

  • Great! I'll try it! ;)

  • i thot it wud work great for my watch...but then it actually dissolved sum of the paint...

  • @PepitoIngles Put some on your macbook and scrub it around, you'll see.

  • @appleinfl how does toothpaste scratch anything? :S

  • I have used nail polish on my white macbook and it gets the job done, but this really gets it clean. Factory white type of clean, I didn't even know that my Mac was so dirty, thanks for posting this!
