Amber riding our well loved Arabian horse, Shine, in Western Pleasure at the Central Alabama Horse Show on July 7, 2007.
Now, apparently the band Alabama did not want people using their Alabama music in these here new fangled Internet video-thingys. 'Cause, ya all might think less of the band Alabama, or God Forbid not run out and buy yerself a copy of the 1974 hit song, Sweet Home Alabama , if us folks in Alabama play Sweet Home Alabama during a horse show -- in Alabama.
Thanks to the band Ponticello, who have graciously made their music available to be -gasp- enjoyed by people watching horse videos, there is once again an audio track to this video.

LMFAO i love your comment on there about the music. You tube is getting bad about crud like that, everything is copyrighted.
Shoot if you say there name more then once they might charge you a fee.

very cute.. I have a question about pleasure horses and showing.. what is it that you're trying to show your horse is the best at? Is it a laid back attitude, collection, or what is it about the movement that the judges look for? Please let me know.. I'm getting into the western world and need all the info I can get! thanks!

Judges will be looking for a horse that is a pleasure to ride and best displays the ideal gaits. Yes, collection is important, as is presence and consistency. You will find significant difference across breeds in carriage, so chose the association you'll be competing in, then take a close look at the rule book, visit some shows, and work with a trainer whose riders are winning at the level you wish to compete at. This is a little local show and doesn't represent the "ideal" well, but was fun.

It is the Central Alabama Horse Club arena near Clanton- do a Google search to find the web site with monthly show dates, etc...
