I don't think he really endorses dry firing. I seem to remember hearing him say something along the lines of dry firing not being a replacement for actually putting rounds down range.

hey, i'm not mr Leatham but i can tell youfrom my experience iv'e been shooting over 20 years, i shot competitively in R.O.T.C. in high school and i was a rifle and pistol coach in the Marines so i suggest go to your local range and try out a bunch of different hand guns and get some classes offered, and then you can better pick what pistol you really feel comfortable with. hope that helps you out. happy shooting to you.

I have 20/30 vision, 30 in the eye that I shoot with, will I still be able to shoot as fast and as accurate as you, or will that be a problem?

Hi Mr. Leatham
What book would you recommend to a total beginner in pistol shooting for a ground up dry fire routine ?? with presentations, reloads, malfunctions etc
Rob, I saw several different types of guns at DrillMaster. Do you suggest members to have smaller caliber guns such as 9mm vs .45 or even .40, and what do you prefer to shoot? I have a .45 USP and find it rather difficult to shoot at speed with the high recoil. Thanks! And good shooting by all!

The cool thing about my DrillMaster Club is that we recognize all equipment categories (IDPA, USPSA, ICORE, etc.). My monthly events have competitors shooting .9 mm, .40, .45, super comp, etc., and the juniors are even allowed to shoot .22s. Most drills, however, favor major caliber, just like an IPSC/USPSA event. Thanks for the comment.
