A cover of Daft Punk - Rollin & Scratchin that I did for my live. I recorded that when I was rehearsing the live.
What was used :
Ableton Live 8 (sequencing and effects)
Roland Juno 106 (distorded synth, the disto is a software one though, I did not have my pedal)
Novation Drumstation (drums)
Novation SuperBassStation (bleep bleep)

You can check out my other (older) video where I'm demonstrating how I did the main sound :

  • COULD YOU BY ANY CHANCE SEND ME THE PATCH?

  • @BLAZE45

first : you don't have to scream

    secondly : what patch ?

    thirdly : no

  • @Benji7905 wow im sorry man i wasnt screaming, i work in photoshop and keep leaving my cap locks on,lol but i was referring to the 106 patch for the scratch i just bought a 106 last month

  • @BLAZE45 first things first, you need to pass the juno through a distortion. A distortion pedal is the best option, it will give you a raw dirty sound. You can also use a software distortion (this version here uses Ableton Live's Overdride, as I had not my Boss MT2 when I recorded it), but really a hardware pedal is better. Daft Punk used a Boss OD-2 I think. The MT-2 gives you a sound really close.

  • @BLAZE45 Secondly, only one note is played, the variations are made with the pitch bend : DCO modulation at 10 and you play on the VCF modulation. The resonance has to be at full level, and you have to find the "soft spot" for the frequency. I won't give you more information as I'm sure this is already way enough to start :) It took me a long time to figure it out.
