Wow, that was great!! The bird, the lightening, the summer night sounds!! If it was an hour long, you could sell it.

what kind of birds do we ear in the background ?

I wish this were an hour long. It is so very soothing to an old country girl like me.

Two separate and distinct birds. I made the same mistake.

we call them whipoorwills in Arkansas. Chuck will's widow, hmm, okay.
Beautiful video, I wish you had more footage

I always thought those were "North Georgia Cuckoo's".. Was wondering if you can repost this in reverse? It might shed some light on the Whippoorwill family & apparent dyslexia in this specie. Maybe just a inverse Fibonacci curvature in its DNA?

This is exactly the sound I hear from about 12:00 at night till 4 am outside my trailer near the shore points in southern DE. If my windows are open it will wake me up- it DOES NOT STOP AND IT IS LOUD. So yes it is a Chuck-wills widow I checked other sites and Id know this call anywhere

Yes. This is a Chuck-will's widow. Not a whippoorwill.
Thanks to all for the corrections on the identification of this bird from a Whippoorwill to a Chuck-Wills Widow. Let me know of more.

I go back and play this one over and over!! Gives me such peace. I wish it was longer. I'd buy it!! So cool that you got the whippoorwill, peeper frogs, AND a summer thunderstorm all at the same time. AMAZING

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I guess it's just normal country life around here in North Alabama. I can hardly wait for spring time weather again.
