Only democrats would want to raise taxes to help the debt, instead of widening the tax base. How does one widen the tax base? More jobs, how does one get more jobs? Lower taxes. I agree that making loans to qualified minorities is right and good business. Making loans to unqualified people of any race, creed, or gender is bad business and that is what they did and that is what gov't forced them to do. Don't take my word for it, before sitting on an imaginary high horse ... look at the default statistics and look at the credit rating of those who defaulted. Yes a large % were minority, but the common theme was loans to unqualified people. Do some homework

Cuomo had help..on Nov 13 1999 Clinton signed "new banking" legislation....go read the NYTimes article clinton-signs-legislation-over­hauling-banking-laws....and that's how they were able to sell the crap mortgages on Wall Street....Obama's mom, Stanley Dunham, working for the Ford Foundation in Jakarta, ruined their banking system with her microeconomics/microcredit programs...or as we've come to know them, subprime loans...and collapsed their entire banking system!
