The Joys of Having a Talking Dog (Shiba Inu)

Django is a Shiba Inu, a breed known for their interactive personalities and being very vocal. Django always sings us songs, says "I love you" and lets us know when he wants something, but this was not like anything he has ever done. He barked continually like this for the entire first 24hours or so after I got back from being out of town. There was not anything physically wrong with him, no physical pain or anything, although at first we thought there was something wrong. He would turn it off the second I put my hand on his head, so it was obviously something anxiety related. He completely stopped 24hrs later and is back to his old, lazy self :) very bizarre though! Maybe he is just trying to test me for motherhood, for those nights when we have a screaming baby and we can't figure out what it needs or how to make it stop. Thats what this felt like!

Or maybe he already knows you're pregnant ... animals sense things like that . so i would keep an eye on if you were. thats just my opinion.

not pregnant yet :) TTC as early as next month, assuming we get our employment situations figured out. but you're right about him, he'll probably know before I even miss my period. I had a pregnant friend come over about a year ago and he was spazzing out! I actually have a video of that too :P

HAHAH! I love him... I worked at a doggy daycare for 4 years and one of my FAV dogs was this little Shiba Inu named Sanatana... he was like a little fox and sounded JUST like Django!

Did you exercise him when you got back? My shiba is a lot less chatty when he's just gotten a work out.

He also does the same thing when my woman comes home from work. He'll run in each room before her and howl, announcing her presence. It's celebratory. Your boy is happy to see you!
