Best UT2004 mod ever made: Alien Swarm (gameplay video)

Alien Swarm is a cooperative-campaign mod for Unreal Tournament 2004.
This video shows an online-played mission, some people are even voice chatting.
The video is recorded in window mode so the text might look a bit odd, but it's probably unreadable anyway... Some parts of the video are cut.

the new alien swarm is pretty awesome :) here are two drastic changes i noticed:

8 to 4: 8 marines = rather chaotic, 3-6 works best, max of 4 is fine.

the original improves marines' stats throughout the campaigns, a death results in a stat reset for that marine. as a result there are MANY remakes to restore the stats, playing the mission over and over which can be very annoying.

instead, there are now persistent achievements and levelups which dont change stats but unlock equip/weapons.

@hermach0 i'm living in germany and i went to bed at 0:30 a.m. gmt+1 as the download was simply taking too long. gonna give it a try today though.

i am still missing a couple of things though:

-when joining you have some filters but it basically puts you into some random game, i liked chosing a server with people i knew. however the new version allows private games with friends as well, so this is ok.

-tactical depth/complexity seems slightly reduced. however, there are some new features too.

-only 1 campaign! they gave away the sdk for free though, so we can hope for lots of new content.

@ApertureSciencePL The new game is better graphic and character stats-wise but it lacks some of the tactical depth and difficulty of the old mod. Also the fan made weapons and equipment packs for the mod were a lot better then any of the stuff you'd find in the new one. If Valve released new dlc/maps and added new game mechanics like weapon/equipment modding and special skills like they had in the original mod then it'd be a lot better.

By the way, you will only find those modes online at least that you download the modes and play on Single Player, but get the game for less than 10$ and join our comunity :D I get easily tired of games because i play them a lot and i play this game for 3 years and i'm not even a little bit tired. Play online and take the Standard Servers only option, then you will find the crazy modes =)-

So far I don't think it's the best mod for UT, there's more than 50 custom modes, IF this was 3D yes it would be good. Some awsome modes are Construction, where you can make your own base, house, also the UT2004 RPG system with classes (DruidsRPG) Where you can build turret and make bases to hide your team from the monsters and survive till the end, also Unreal Wheel what is a Street Racing mode... Killing floor, Deathball wich is football with shieldguns, also Tennis mode...JUST GET THE GAME!
