this is a great song --I am sick of politically correct dissing Hag --unfortunately there are NAZIS in this world they are making ha with the song-any one who knows anything about Hag knows he is no racist but I've noticed people like slogans cheap talk so hell I'm gonna listen to it

I’ve only picked up on this song recently and its good music, and if we still lived in the world Hag and I were born into it would upset no one.
Then in the US segregation was very much in force and in Britain here very few black people were resident.
But things have changed so much you can’t just put it down to political correctness, non-white people have changed their situation in the world and they object to being blamed for all problems which have come along.
Never-the-less I love the song.

If you think race or gender or religion (or no religion) makes you better and others worse..you are plain stupid. If you are an enemy of caring, and people getting along, then you are THE enemy..of all goodness everywhere.

There's absolutely nothing racist about this song at all. If minorities would stop being overly sensitive and racist themselves it would actually help them become more like the rest of us and not allow actual racists wast our time and prevent them being a separate society. Minorities should understand that by segregating themselves in the name of race only creates a subculture which in turn, only slows their progression and advancement simply because of the way they are raised and think.

@BreshDigitalTV Yeah, but why do they Allow these rappers to shout a lot of stupid word on radio??
This is not a Racist song.

I thought you had to call them niggers to upset them.I didn't here Merle say nigger one time in that song.Ol Merle has been my hero ever since fourteen years old and heard Swingin Doors and if anybody should be called the King in our great country it should be Merl
We're not talking about his 1974 release of this song.. That is before "Political Correctness".. Capitol pulled THIS cut off of Hag's CD (Chicago Wind).. It was going to be a duet with Toby Keith.
I hate political correctness and ball-less record companies..

THIS SONG WAS CENSORED... It was originally recorded in 1977 and released on the album "A Working Man Can't Get Nowhere Today". Then it was re-recorded for the CD "Chicago Wind" and set for a single as a duet with Toby Keith. Then the "Suit and Tie" people thought it to be politically incorrect and pulled it as a single. Then the gutless record company, not wanting any trouble, decided to delete it entirely from the CD.. That, my friends, is CENSORED..
