Pixar scores with WALL-E

Jun. 30 - WALL-E was at the top of the box office on its opening weekend, giving Disney's Pixar its latest number one hit.Pixar continues its winning streak with the successful release of WALL-E. Its creativity and risk taking have given it a unique perch at the top of Hollywood. Bobbi Rebell reports.

They may own Pixar, but that only gives Disney merchandising rights. Disney doesn't get any income from Pixar films themselves, just the toys. :P

Well now it does, since disney bought pixar recently, they now own it.

Disney has nothing to do with Pixar. Pixar belonged to LUCASARTS. Steve Jobs invested in the group of people (John Lasseter, etc) that worked at COMPUTER GRAPHICS PROJECT at LucasArts and they formed PIXAR. They created TOY STORY independently. Disney only bought out PIXAR in 2004, but PIXAR demanded that Disney has NO interference in PIXAR. Talks fell through until Disney accepted terms in 2006. Just cause you see 'DISNEY' doesn't mean anything. Pixar is separate.
