For science fiction fans, and acting students! Using clips from the classic SF movie Them!, featuring James Whitmore, we show you how to steal a scene using anyone of several methods. A fun clip, an affection look at the movie Them! and the action therein.
HA HA !! Fantastic (and so true !!) BTW, wanna more shameless scene stealing : check out THE MAGNIFICIENT SEVEN, and look out for every scene where Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen are in the same shot ! McQueen CONSTANTLY does stuff to bring attention to himself (which famously got him in trouble with Brynner between takes, but he just kept on doing it ! Talk about clashing egos ;)

He should have had better movie roles. He was even more amazing on the stage. I saw him twice. Once in a play called, "The Visit" and another time in "Inherit the Wind". He played the role of Henry Drummond, the same part that the great Spencer Tracy played in the film version. As great as Tracy was in the film. Whitmore was even better on the stage.

well, I do not know about stealing a scene, but he gives them a depth, making them seem real and not static... which really helps when your villains are puppet parade floats...

The best Scene Stealer in this movie, besides the Ants, is the Fess Parker scene as the pilot who sees the ants flying and is locked up in the looney bin for his observations. It is said that Walt Disney plucked him from nowheresville to become Davy Crockett on the strength of this one brief appearance.
