  • Really cool place. Thanks for sharing. I was able to do the entire path when I went a few years ago. I remember walking sideways and being glued to the wall in spots which I thought was a little too close to the edge for comfort, The canyon is awesome though. I'd love to see it again. I didn't get pictures so thanks again for sharing. It brings back great memories.

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Another great video Chi!! I still think you should get a show on the Travel Channel or Discovery! Have you looked into a wireless mic to cut down on wind noise?

Also, a steady cam would be cool... I'll get a hold of you on RvB about the steady cam--maybe I could make you one on the cheap?

  • I have a mic set up now. Well, a remote mic with a good wind screen. I'm still looking into lapel mics for the system. As for the steady cam... I have a set-up here... a great little tripod... I just rarely use it. This hike was not planned, so it caught me off guard. We might have to look into getting a swinging one that balanced.

  • That stuff reminds me of the caves I saw in Tennesse, just wish I had a video camera then. Great video!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'd love to see some ruins back east.

  • Headed to Canyon de Chelly, Hubbell Trading Post AND Walnut Canyon this weekend. The ledge you are on near the Island center is rather precarious....gulp.

I don't have a fear of heights so much as I REAAAALLLY respect them so I am rather anxious about that path. How narrow is the narrowest point?

    Thanks....GREAT videolog!!

  • Yup, the hand held steady cam is the one I'm talking about... Gravity keeps the camera steady as you walk around. Fairly simple to build one. In fact, I think they have tutorials on here on how to make your own. Aluminum would be the ideal material to make one out of, as it's lightweight.

  • I'm glad you really enjoyed the show!

  • In the area around Chatnooga, Tennesse and close to Nashville is great caves and stuff. :)
