  • Garvin was terrible,he was probably the worst seller of all time...

  • Honestly, I never understood Garvin ever being popular. He was terrible with the stick, had a personality that rivaled wall paper in my opinion. NEVER did anything to earn a World Title and then did not defend it for 30 days just to lose it in his first title defense.

  • @invasionsend

I disagree. Garvin may not have had any real mic skills, but he was a really good wrestler. And he had the World title 2 months and did defend it before losing it to Flair at Starrcade '87. He gave Tully Blanchard a title shot on World Wide Wrestling, but it was a ploy by the Horsemen to beat him up. The rest of the Horsemen jumped Garvin and busted him open with JJ Dillon's shoe.

  • @MrBlackSW Don't recall ever seeing that match, but I still think he was a pretty pitiful excuse for a champion. Honestly, I am a firm believer that he performed sexual favors for someone to get that title. He was never that over with the fans to justify a title reign.

  • @invasionsend if u thought Garvin was bad look at Greg Gagne. Ronnie Garvin actually had a pinfall victory over Ric Flair. When was the last time Ric Flair EVER took on Greg Gagne? And trust me Garvin was very well-known even if he had all those characteristics... the Garvin name is that all itself

  • @cmhero85 Gagne was the most pathetic excuse for a wrestler. If not for his father he would never have had a career at all. He had no personality what-so-ever. Garvin getting a title as a payback for a sexual favor does not make him better though.

  • @invasionsend He didn't mind being a transitional champion. Flair lost the title to him but garvin knew his reign would be a short one because he would then lose it back to Flair. Barry Windham was first given that option, but he rejected it - a good decision by Barry Windham. No wrestler should accept the offer of being a transitional champion in my opinion.

  • LONG LIVE RONNIE thank you Garvinski

  • I liked this midcard feud between Garvin and Valentine. It was a midcard feud that actually had a solid, main event-esque storyline behind it, with direction and it kept you interested. I also liked how Garvin, as a 'former wrestler babyface ref', would get into it with the lower level heels (guys under Valentine) like Iron Mike Sharpe and others. Garvin didn't have the charisma to main event in the WWF, but I felt he was over midcarder during his run

  • I LOVE IT. I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO SEE THIS EVER SINCE 1989 BECAUSE THIS

IS THE FIRST TIME I EVER SAW THIS MATCH BECAUSE THE EPISODE WITH THIS MATCH WAS NOT ON TAS T.V. THANKYOU FOR UPLOADING AND COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE UPLOAD ALL THE EPISODES OF THE SUPER STARS OF WRESTLING.

  • battle of the bleach blondes.

  • these are two of the legit tough guys in wrestling

  • Garvin may not have been deserving of the NWA title, but I don't think he sucked. His best days were as a heel managed by Gary Hart. But then he left the NWA not long after and went to WWE, back to being a face.

  • I thought Garvin was a decent seller. His persona was "rugged" meaning he didn't make every opponent's move look like it was DESTROYING him. I attribute his popularity to being no nonsense and without a "gimmick". Some fans back in the day appreciated that.

  • @MrBlackSW ya the road warriors came in and saved him

  • The Garvin Stomp. What the hell was that all about? And who came up with move?
