@jmr1068204 I got the regular Invisalign. I didn't know about a "generic" version, until someone mentioned it on here lol. Although, it would have been nice to save a little money and go with generic! My ortho has never mentioned refinements, not even to tell me that it could be a possibility. I knew what they were though. He's very certain on his work, and I'm hoping he doesn't drop the bomb on me and rack on more trays. I guess we'll just see how my #30 trays feel, and hope for the best!! :)

@omgwow33 You also get refinement trays if your teeth did not move as much as was expected in order to fit the trays. As long as you are wearing the trays at least 22 hours per day and taking them out only to eat, they should theoretically move with the trays over the 2 weeks. But sometimes teeth are stubborn and take a little more time, especially if you have any teeth being "extruded" (pulled out of the gum to make them longer. That's one of the hardest things to do with Invisalign.

@omgwow33 Well technically, you may have paid for them and the dentist may or may not be telling you about them. It just depends on which Invisalign package you purchased. I think I remember that you paid for sort of a generic version, so I'm not sure if they have the same practice of refinement trays. But you basically only get refinement trays if your last trays were not fitting properly. I think they originally made the trays wrong on certain teeth, which never really fit properly.

@jmr1068204 oh so you're done with the inital treatment! thats awesome! hopefully you dont have too many more trays! at what point did they tell you that you'd need the refinements? my ortho hasn't ever mentioned them, and i'm hoping that i can get away without them!

I was congenitally missing upper lateral incisors (the tooth on either side of the two top front center teeth) and a couple of my central incisors on the bottom (the two front bottom center teeth) are still both baby teeth at 28 years old. So they're going to pull those two baby teeth and put in a mini dental implant in the gum with double normal teeth on it. The same for the missing upper lateral incisors. Invisalign is being used to make more room for the upper ones. Pushing teeth back.

@omgwow33 Nah, I just finished 23 upper trays and 20 lower. Got my first set of "refinements" coming...I have no idea how many top and bottom those will be. With Invisalign Full, I get different refinements with whatever number of trays needed per set. Each new set has to have new impressions, of course. So I had my Invisalign buttons ground off yesterday (no anesthetic for 12 of them...it hurt. lol). Just using old trays as retainers until I get new ones and new buttons in different places.

@jmr1068204 Awwww thank you sooo much for the compliment!!! Thats so sweet! I was really lucky! Before I got them, I was preparing myself for a terrible lisp, and was quite shocked when I put them in lol. I wish everyone could've been as fortunate. Are you just starting your treatment??
