Manual zoom makes a lot of difference and the light sensitivity is very good.
I've upgraded to a Panasonic DMC-TZ7 that has stereo sound and can handle high volume better but the picture quality is not as good but it is a compact camera.
If I would buy one now it would be Fujifilm Finepix HS10
