Originally created for an exhibition called Riesgo/Risk at the Museo de Arte Moderno La Tertulia, in Cali, Colombia.
The piece was installed in a corner, on a TV monitor (looped) on it's back, facing the ceiling. The viewer walking on stairs above between spaces could look down at the monitor.
Scarred heart, a play on sacred heart reflects on the violence inherent in Colombian society at that time. The catalogue included an introduction by Colombian curator Miguel Gonzalez and a essay by the Danish art
theoretician Carsten Juhl.
Carsten Juhl's essay "The Art of Orientation" can be found at this link: www.asbury.dk/ayoungandrade.htm
