Craig Goldy was born on November 6th, 1961 and is the guitarist for the band Dio. He first came in to public recognition while in the band Giuffria.

He also played in an early version of the band Rough Cutt, which Ronnie James Dio had once produced and co-written songs for. He was featured in Hear 'n Aid - Stars project while still in Giuffria, alongside other players such as Adrian Smith and Dave Murray of Iron Maiden, Yngwie Malmsteen, Brad Gillis and others.

Craig Goldy temporarily left the group Dio for the third time in 2005 after suffering a hand injury on a tour through Russia. He was then replaced by former Dio guitarist Doug Aldrich for the duration of the tour, but has since returned to the fold.

Craig is an Reform Jew.

He has a loyal following of young college kids more commonly referred to as Mu Alpha Chi.

His main guitar is a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty.

Randall William "Randy" Rhoads (December 6, 1956 -- March 19, 1982) was an American heavy metal guitarist who is best known for playing with Ozzy Osbourne. Despite his short career, he is cited as an influence by many contemporary heavy metal guitarists. A devoted student of classical guitar, Rhoads often combined his classical music influences with his own heavy metal style. While on tour with Ozzy Osbourne, he would often seek out classical guitar tutors for lessons.

Ozzy Osbourne (born John Michael Osbourne, December 3, 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, England) is the lead vocalist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath and the star of the reality show, The Osbournes. In addition to lead vocals with Black Sabbath, Osbourne also plays the harmonica and synthesizer.

As a solo artist, Osbourne has sold over 27 million albums in the US, and 50 million worldwide.[citation needed] Two of his albums, Blizzard of Ozz (1980) and No More Tears (1991), are certified quadruple-platinum, for sales of over 4 million copies in the US.

Dio is a heavy metal band led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who formed it in October 1982 after leaving Black Sabbath. In an interview, available on the special edition re-release of Holy Diver, Dio states that he never intended to begin a solo career. His intention was to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath member drummer Vinny Appice. Naming the band Dio made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well-known at that time. Dio's logo, when reversed 180 degrees, seems to spell out the word "Devil", although this is disputed and Ronnie James Dio insists that he does not see it and never intended to do this. In addition to Ronnie on vocals and keyboards originally, and Vinny Appice on drums, the band featured Vivian Campbell who played guitar, and Jimmy Bain, bass.

  • Who the fuck is Craig Goldy and why should I give a shit. Randy's a legend! Hes the best!

  • @moremetalthanyou71 And yes I realize this is about who the better guitar player is and I don't care, personally I think sound and style are more important than who is better. Both bands have had brilliant guitarists throughout their careers but I'd take Tony Iommi over anyone they've played with.

  • @rjkahlon The only ression that Randy rhodes is a legend,is that he died. There are better guitarists out there.Thank DUMBFUCKS.

  • Rhandy is God!! 'Blizzard of Ozz' and 'Dairy of a Madman' are classic albums, the guitaring that came out of those two albums inspired nowaday guitarist. Rhandy was way ahead of his time, other guitariest from the early 80tys never dreamed of comming out with riffs and solos like Rhandy did. Imagine what he would have been like today!!!!! RIP Rhandy Rhoads

  • No competition!!! Randys the best!!

  • craig was in a super gay band, but so was randy, craig is alive, randy has passed,

randy was the best, but craig is up there with them

  • RIP Randy Rhoads

  • I think Tony Iommi wins because both of these artists wrote their best music with Tony Iommi. I find both Ozzy and Dio's first two albums were both their best. The only good song on Bark at the Moon was Bark at the Moon, and after Last In Line Dio's songwriting slipped into mediocrity. Try listening to Dream Evil, all the chorus's for that album are just the title of the song repeated for every song...it's horrible. After Tony Iommi it's Randy cuz Craig never played on any of Dio's good abums

  • Craig Goldy is an amazing guitarist and Randy Rhodes is too but between the two of them I'd have to go with... Randy because Randy is one of my biggest inspirations on guitar nothing against Craig though cuz I'm tryin to learn the holy diver solo right now

  • Randy MOTHERFUCKIN rhodes!

  • tough choice, but i think I like Craig a bit more.
