JVC GZ-HD7 - Erhu Artist Lucy (旺角街頭拉二胡女子)

Honestly, I wouldn't have cared much for the original:

However, Lucy is a gem that is a rare find these days (and in Mong Kok of all places). One can only stop, listen and wonder. As you know, begging for money in HK is illegal (and she was caught just yesterday). Is the "penny-less student" for real or just a hoax? Had she gone through tough times in her life which lead to this? Or is it all for just kicks?

Nobody knows.

But what I do know is that, if this IS a hoax or just for kicks, then let there be more of it!

Sadly, from what I had been able to observe for the last two days, she dare not look, smile or say anything to anyone. Even when I tried to kindly ask for a song request -- but that's due to the fact that she didn't quite understand Cantonese. And my Putonghua sucked very well. Luckily, I had good ol' Bruce to translate.

Ultimately, she was kind and gracious enough to entertain my request. Hence this video.

我看見很多人在一些討論區質疑為何她拉的二胡聲全部由揚聲器播出­，而不是直接由二胡播出，他們因而斷定她不是真的拉的，而是播m­p3；也有些人聽到背景音樂就斷定是mp3。我對香港人的音樂常­識那麼貧乏感到有些詫異，他們不知道甚麼叫pick也知道電結他­的聲音也是一樣經由揚聲器播出而不是直接由結他播出吧？甚祇有些­人無聊到打電話給食環署不特止，還固意踢她的二胡袋。為甚麼這些­人的品格那麼低下還有臉公開地講出來呢？

Very nice performance, never liked erhu when I was younger, it just has a very sad and melancholy tone, but as I grow older, I've learned to appreciate it's beauty.
