Baron Münchhausen visits Venice at carnival time. Early Agfacolor was way ahead of its time. These scenes must have looked so great when they were first shown.

  • @darrylmit Well that was possible, because it was before the fall of italys fascist leader Mussolini. That was filmed on location in Venice.

  • How were these shot in Venice, during World War II ?

  • 1943 to be exact. It was made during the turn of the tide. It was well known for leaving out politics of the time (although they are hinted at, especially one scene that hints at the Extermination camps although no one would realize it until they saw it in hindsight). The lead character was also against the Nazi party as well.

  • I have the version released thru KINO. What scenes are missing?

  • Wasn't this film made in Nazi Germany?
