The Suspicious Cheese Lords sing Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina's setting of Psalm 42 (Psalm 43 in the Vulgate) "Sicut cervus," at the Saint Louis Cathedral Basilica, opening the 15th season of their Cathedral Concert series (www.stlcathedralconcerts.org) on October 19, 2007.

  • Many goosebumps especially at 1:39. I like the St. Olaf version done in California but this one is pretty special. Where is this church? In Canada, we only have churches like that in Quebec. Our Toronto Cathedral, serving a huge Catholic body, is modest.

  • The church is the Cathedral Basilica of St Louis in St Louis, MO. Glad you like this clip too.

  • To all the OTHER choirs with videos of this piece on YouTube...THIS is how Palestrina wanted it to sound.

  • Utterly, magnificently, and gloriously divine. Carry on, oh perspicacious masters of the dairy!

Seriously, thanks for making such beautiful music. This is one of my favorite motets, and I've added it to one of my playlists.

If y'all ever come as far west as Texas, I shall be in the audience!

  • Bellissima!!

  • I had the enormous pleasure of having attended this particular performance -- it was ALL this good. ADORED it.

One thing that makes me sad, though, is that I've never again heard the Suspicious Cheese Lords' amazing version of Philip Wilby's "If Ye Love Me," which simultaneously gave me goosebumps and nearly reduced me to tears.

O exalted Messieurs du Fromage -- since you haven't recorded that piece and seem to have taped the entire St. Louis concert, do please post that video as well!

  • The finest dairy product I ever did hear!

    Well done, gentlemen!

  • I AM A CHEESE LORD. OLOL.

  • Beautiful performance. Pitched a little too low, understandable due to necissity-all male choir. But bass would be better balanced if it were pitched up.

  • Beautiful!

  • OMG this is beautiful

  • i saw u guys at george mason.

  • nice i saw u today

  • The counter tenor is fine. I wish this amazing choir could come to Canada. If you are intersted, contact me.
