Holocaust survivor and Nobel Laureate, Elie Wiesel, gave this impassioned speech in the East Room of the White House on April 12, 1999, as part of the Millennium Lecture series, hosted by President Bill Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.

  • people in iraq were being gased just like people in concentration camps. to not invade iraq would have been indifferent. how they proceeded to invade definitely needed improvement and obviously they had ulterior motives but it still had to happpen

  • Palestinians should leave Gaza and go back to where they originated from. Palestinians have no relevant claims to the land.

  • People were being gassed in Iraq in the 1980s -- to which Bush/Reagan responded by INcreasing aid to Saddam. The 2003 bombing/invasion of Iraq was not done out of concern for the Iraqi people.
