"Withering scrutiny applied to the republican's Vice Presidential candidate"? Are you serious? Asking Palin to name a newspaper's she reads was "withering scrutiny"? Obama was subjected, according to the AP, to more than 5 weeks of Rev. Wright coverage. How many weeks of coverage would satisfy Bozell and conservatives demand for objective journalism? 6 weeks? 10? Lol. Please. The fact that it didn't work as an attack doesn't mean it wasn't covered. Obama won clean and just humiliated the GOP.

On other forums, it was stated that Sarah Palin was not asked any questions that unreasonable to ask a V.P. candidate! As far as Ministers, I did not see a lot on controversy (other then on blogs) shown towards Sarah Palins Minister. Basically, I think that the media was fair in their questioning.

I think your analysis is short sighted. It is a common excuse by conservative to blame the media for their failures. I admit the media was biased but that alone did not take down John McCain. Bush won twice under the same circumstances. John McCain lost because 1st,the political environment was generally bad for republicans, that's why GOP suffered huge losses in the senate and the house. 2nd, Palin pick scared a lot of independents away. 3rd,Obama simply out organized McCain.

fox news was behind mccain 110%. i would say they were probably one of the single biggest reasons that he got so many votes. THAT, and al;l the fear that he insighted in voters. however, for those of us who didn't want to hear "mud slinging" and "obama bashing" we just watched cnn :D, "the most respected name in news."
