@lorely17yo I know what you mean. But I think the reason this movie has such an emotional attachment is because of how badly Spirit wants to just be free and wild. And we feel for him in his struggles against human intervention and how he wants to be back with his herd. Perhaps because so many people value freedom and it's painful to see it taken from anyone even a horse.

20 years old and this is still one of my fave movies ever!!! back when it first came out i loved how free spirit was and how he could never be broken i'd run around the playground at recess pretending i was him :P needless to say people thought i was a bit of a disturbing child haha
