The Benny Goodman Quintet featuring Red Norvo on vibes and teddy Willson on piano, play Rose Room for the V-Disc program in 1943. This is a 12 " record and plays over 4 minutes of swing. Enjoy!

  • Thisis what happens when you get GOOD musicians together, PERFECTION...

  • Wonderful, you can never get tired of listening to versions of this lovely song. It makes you feel good. Is there any recorded version of the full length (10 minutes or more, I don´t know) song with Charlie Christian?

  • yes, lovin' this version. I know the other inside and out, so I'm studying this one closely... what was on the other side?

  • Recorded 11 October 1944 at the Columbia Studios in New York City. This is one of my favorite versions from Benny. Just as I love Charlie Christian on the 1939 commercial recording, there is something so tasty about Teddy Wilson's solo on this one. Excellent post!
