after effects 7 or CS3?

I used CS3, but you can use as far back as 6 (Trapcode Particular isn't compatible with earlier versions, and anything before 5 doesn't have 3D).

7 comes after 5, 3D was added in 5, so 7 has 3D.

ok thanks. btw when you say 3D do you mean we can make 3D Models and create animations?

After effects has the 3D space and cameras that you can use (the 3D Switch you for layers). Basically it just has a z-space (x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis) which lets you angle things and move them back and forward. In this video, the text that says "Zinc" is rotating around in 3D space.
