This is the station that the Brigg and District Amateur Radio Club (BDARC) activated on the popular Mills On The Air weekend on 14th and 15th May 2011.
This is the third year as a club we have operated from this last remaining working Post Mill in the North of England.
This mill is called a "Post Mill" as it pivots on an axis in a similar way a crane uses a turntable.
This lets the Miller turn the mill into the wind.
This mill was built in 1760 and restored from a wreck that had stood dorment and in decay since the 1940's in 1965.
Wrawby Post Mill is open to the public on various days through out the year.
This year we had a smaller and less complicated station as last years multi radio set up.
But I feel this was our best Mills On The Air activation by far.
We had nearly 500 QSO's and many with other Mills.
GB2WPM mill had massive "Pile Ups" all weekend that proved the station to be very popular and with a massive signal on the band all weekend.
Thank you from all the team at GB2WPM for the many QSO's ,and we will see you in 2012.
