  • Nice one Keith.

  • @petecockcroft Glad you liked it. Gordon Beck is seriously amazing. I will reply to your message sometime soon, just got back from Australia and I'm getting things organized.

  • @jamesedwardtheobald

thanks for the recommendations. I was thinking about sand for the next AH album I get

  • @sludgefingers check out my track '500 kilometers mas' (miles high, corea), on my channel page. check out the guitar tone on the lead. that's my allan holdsworth Ibanez ah10 going through a korgax30g into my PC. spent hours dialing in that tone. first take solo. i play bass there too. the other two tunes have good solos (esp 'same fear) though those have been dumped back and forth between tape decks and cheap PC audio cards. same guitar, more shreddy soloing on 'imaginary'...

  • @jamesedwardtheobald Yeah I talked to him once - nice fella. I first read about him in a music magazine (Melody Maker) in 1975 and heard him soon after (and a lot since) so sometimes it's strange to see the comments from people who haven't heard much of him. None Too Soon is my favourite AH album but the tune above is for me among his most impressive playing - I'd like to see the hi gain shredders try it on acoustic.

  • @Timotheedle i highly recommend the first IOU album, a must have. followed by ONE OF A KIND' by bruford. those two are essential allan. Road Games, Metal Fatigue, Secrets, Sand., Atavachron , Believe it (lifetime) sheez, i could go on...

  • @sludgefingers living in a small county with no car, i had no access to this album, and no internets. i knew of the album from discography, never got around to hunting for it (via audiophile imports or whatever was available), i heard this years ago, though, fan since '82. met allan three times, he's nice, though he was very angsty last time i saw him, he is not enjoying getting old, alas!

  • Funny to see all these comments as if this has just been released or was some big secret - all the AH fans and guitarists generally that I knew had this in the early 80s.

  • Woahhh, I've never heard of this album! Nice find!
