Thi Mai is a Fairy Tale Character I created in a story way back in 1981. She and her saviour Chellah walk through lands of imagination to find their quest. She is 15 inches tall he is ten feet tall.
This series of clips have been created across a span of about 4 years and in order to make space for the current "Short", the ANimated Chinese Painting Exhibition wherein I include my own Real world Chinese Paintings on digital silk, (I am currently editing and configuring iCloth in iCLone for this very purpose.) I dleeted a whole ocean of large AVI's and compiled these tests here.
Chellah is currently the next project and will be complete with Clone Cloth v.3 as soon as I can get organised enough and finish the current ANimation Exhibition.
In this series of clips I simply display some tests I did ages back.
As I am into the 3D world Chinese Painting Exhibition, medievals etc, I thought I would weed out some videos of old and make space for the new AVI's before final editing. So amongst all these were many clips and tests of Thi Mai and I thought I would tie them together. She is form Version 1 iClone all the way through to version 4 iClone. And now she is really ready for animation.
The CHinese Painting exhibtion I have finally completed the final set for the paintings and it looks wonderful. The trouble is, every time I think I have it wrapped I find another idea in my imagination and I have to start creating it. Simply as an alternative way to diaply my paintings. I hope you enjoy this walk anyway. Thi Mai is a character I wrote about in 1981 in an old Story where She and Chellah a huge semi ogre of some ten feet tall, walk through the olde lands of Fairy Law and lok for the Gate of Imagination.

  • How exquisitely enchanting......how I would love to drift where she is. I always knew you had an amazing imagination but had never seen just how wonderful it is. Your work is beautiful Neil. I will keep watching for more. Keep safe my bro x

  • Well, for every second theres about between an hour to two prepping. Mostly in the early stages of each 5 min segment its a time prep of about two months in the case of the Chinese Painting Exhibition which should be ready by christmas. Commercially speaking these are top end entities that companies are starting to pay big money for. You only have to look at the TV to see animations starting to take over big business portrayal.

Being a Disney II wanabe isnt easy!

  • So fantastic ~ as if I fell into a magic dream garden ...

The fairies and those unicorns were so cute and pure ...

The fairies' dance and flying motions were amazing ...

And I like the background music also ~

    You've got high imaginations ~

Look! You created a wonderland ^^~~

  • Well if the miseries of the real world didnt gloat over its ability to mire my reality in skank I wouldnt spend so much time creating a better one. :(

But we must remember how to count our blessings.

    :o)

Im happy you enjoyed these trimmings.

  • This is stunning, really. Sometimes I think that in future we will experience nature just in our memories or as 3D animation. 5*

  • Well, if people dont stop breeding like rats the film "SOYLENT GREEN" always comes to mind as our inevitability.

This in the mean time is a celebration of my Story coming to life more and more. Every more easily. And ever more beautiully.

Now she has to fly and I can create scenelets for real..

  • My friend said "hey they are teaching you to talk" So I came here and it was weird to see my name up there.

    I prounounce Thi-Mai (Tie-May)

If your going for Vietnamese it should be Mai-Thi (My Tee). Middle names are usually first in vietnam then main name then family name. (Thi is a common middle name as smith)
