I still think you need to realize that Israel is, and has been at war with their neighbors for a long time. The grudges on both sides of the conflict are held up by blood, and I doubt either side will stop until the other is destroyed. They can't simply make a peace treaty and call it a day. (It'd be great if they could, though.)
