In the Melancon campaign's first attempt at a rally, all you could hear were crickets chirping. Of course this rally had nothing to do with his votes for Obamas stimulus plan, Obamas budget, or to keep the public option in the Houses health care bill. Instead, Melancon attempted to draw a crowd of Saints fans to oppose to the NFLs crack down on "Who Dat Nation." While thats certainly a noble cause, what does it say about Melancons anemic campaign that nobody showed up?

  • To the extremists on the right and left. The days of pointing fingers is over. The majority of American voters are Independents, with some who lean left and right. You both have failed America. the "Republicrats" are history.

The next election cycle will be very different, and we can see it already with Brown in Massachusettes, Mark Rubio in Florida, and Rand Paul in Kentucky.

True Fiscal Conservatives, irrespective of party affiliation will overwhelmingly win this November.

  • Seriously GOP? You're stooping to tactics like this?

I'm not voting for Charlie Boy, but wasting time and money on crappy attack ads like this one only makes the Vitter folks look bad.

Who cares how many people came out for some distraction rally. Focus on issues that matter.

  • Note that Charlie does not show up for his own rallies anymore. He's afraid somebody is going to ask him a question.

  • What was the point of the rally at this late date? Charlie, you arrived a bit late for the show. The NFL had already backed off. I suppose it is better late than never. Since you seem to be running behind the rest of us maybe now you will vote against the government health care, cap and trade, card check etc.

  • Yep, those petitions must not have been too heavy for those 2 "fired up Who Dats" to carry in to the Post Office. The usual "symbolism over substance."
