The killing on Sundays are more excuses for the DNR to rake in blood money and its not to benefit the people at all. DVA are still high year after year after year with no end in sight and I think the hunting public and DNR love the mangled cars from deer this way more excuses to kill. Why don't they put better road signs? That is what the most important thing is and maybe fences too and STOP the KILLING because it DOES NOT WORK.

You just asked me where I live so that comment would qualify as a dismissive generalization. You do not know the specific policies and procedures of my DNR.

The road signs here are located wherever deer can be found and they're quite large. But there's no avoiding collisions in the major corridors and roads. At 80 to 100 KPH there is only so much response time.

Fences are expensive to install and maintain because we've got quite a few corridors here. It just not economically viable.

Fences are "economically viable" when DVA's are costing human lives". I never understand pro-hunt people no matter how bad DVA's are they make excuses that fences are "too expensive" though each innocent human lives lost were someones mother, father, brother, sister, etc. DVA is preventable but the state need to know the importance of fences and better sign . Are you overpopulated with deer then how about implementing IC deer birth control.? Is DVA highest during hunting season?

Well, there's a moose problem in northern New Brunswick that's costing lives but they're still having problems funding it. And they only have two major highways. Ontario has quote a large amount of roads and highways in comparison.

They've been experimenting with birth control with limited success and the coyotes help but hunting will probably be required for some time.

No I don't know Canada's DNR but I know that with hunting they need lots of large antlered deer for trophy killing, that is why the wildlife killers buy the tags so they can home with that big racked deer.

I don't understand this fascination with having a dead animal's head on the wall but I have no problem with a hunt meant to control the population and keep the herd healthy.

The hunters I know eat what they kill and there are quite a few parks and protected areas where deer can't be hunted in Eastern Ontario.

They do love apples and carrots. I was shaking apples off the trees for a while but I got too many chiggers on me and never again lol

I bet you did not know that hunting organization are producing deer for recreational purpose and that is why the most heavily hunted states have for many years the highest DVA's. Where do you live?

Kanata, a suburb of Ottawa, Canada.

My local deer get to enjoy several parks and protected areas, and my neighborhood has quite alot of schools so people usually drive at about 50 KPH here.
