running a "duplast 28 litre column still" using a sugar wash (8kg sugar) and "alcotec pure super turbo yeast" to get high quality spirit. My current setup is producing about 5.2-5.4 litres of high qaulity alcohol at 82-85% or 164-170 proof (for americans). due to using pumps and a cooling system, there is no need for running water supply, so can be done anywhere there is a power supply, and it also keeps the cost of production right down as there is no water wasted.
This is compleatly legal in New Zealand, and you can make as much as you like!
I' also making my own Fruit wines, Lagers and beers. Try it, it's loads of fun. And you get PISHED too!

  • The only thing about the a/c condenser is it looks cool, no faster than the water is being used it would have time to cool once it's returned to the bucket

  • @Allenmakestherules

sorry but no, the water comes out the head at 55-58 degrees C, so therefore it is very much needed. the barrel is only 110 liters and would heat very quickly as the pumps are putting out 15 liters per minute. without the a/c radiator there would be no condensing and no reflux action.

  • You clearly have a large void between your ears :D

  • @cowboybob3000

Please watch the "how my cooling system works" video.

it's all very simple and non harmful. simply a money saving system.

  • How much sugar is used per liter? How much yeast per liter? And how much electricity? What would it cost compared to the current gas prices? Maybe it is better to buy the fuel? Perhaps all those HHO experiments flooding Youtube are about as effective?

  • @Riskteven

Not making fuel, making homebrew vodka here.

  • what are you using as a heating element? how is your still put together I get the cooling system freaking genius, but can you go deeper into detail about the rest of the working parts (and how to find them) of the still? really dig your setup with and how everything is white lab status lol I picture you in a lab coat finding the aids or something while you enjoy you home made vodka lol

  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • And furthermore while the a/c condenser may very well dissipate a small amount of heat from the waste water it has absolutely nothing to do with the reflux or condensing of the still. Not trying to be an a hole here but throw that mess in your closest trash can and put ice in your water bucket. No need to thank me, experience tells me your condenser in the still will be more effective and your operation will take up less space and consume less electricity

  • Your using a box fan to blow room temp air across a a/c condenser to cool water heated in the still? Ok pimpin, reality says cold water is best for optimum performance, your cooling your water to room temp at best and pumping it to your condenser so explain to me why simply putting ice in your water barrel isnt gonna maximize your yield and eliminate that fan and condenser

  • Oh i get it dude theres a kettle element in the drum i looked on the other vid. I think i will build one like this thanks

  • Dude thats a real cool set up you have there only thing i dont understand is what heat are you using because you have a plastic container maybee i missed somthing. I like the car radiator idea too that way you dont need a continues water supply. What sort of flavourings are you using too? I was gonna get an air still but after going on a distill forum it kind of put me off and i recon i could build me own for half the price. Cracking vid dude Thanks.

  • Can this work as a continuous still for ethanol? have alot of fruit waste from my trees and wanna take advantage of the waste. do you have a parts list with a write up by chance?

  • Good video , now i know you should throw away the first shot glass but what is the right temp to catch the alcohol to make spirits(vodka). Can you pls tel me as not sure to what temp you get meth and what temp you get the ethanol and what temp to catch the good stuff, pls help me out as first time stiller, thanks mate

  • @uncopyrighted I could not imagine any reason to but wood bark in with the mash / wash. doing so creates or increase the chances to create Methanol and who wants to distill Methanol or even take the chance of doing so. The only place that you would want any contact with wood is in aging & unless you are going to put it up for a quite a while you better off with the extracts. Side note even if the radiator did not contain lead but had coolant in it you have a good chance to wreck you Kidneys
