So true, some buyers don't have any idea that they should get pre-approved for a loan first and also not to make any major purchases during the process. Also, many just buy through the listing agent and don't have any idea that a buyers agent can help them get a lower price than they will by negotiating on their own. They think they're saving the seller the buyer's commission so they will get a better price. I know buyers who did just that and really ended up paying more than they should have.
