Can I suggest you quit smoking, work out or both - because I have never heard more labored breathing just walking around.

All the power to the outlets is supplied by solar panels and a bank of deep cycle batteries. We have a generator to run the power tools. No running water and a composting toilet is pretty "off grid". :-)

All the supplies to get the cabin dried in cost around $2800 from Lowes. The cabin is 12' x 32' with 10' side walls and an 8' deck on the front. The 10' side walls give you much more space in the loft without an extreme roof pitch. We try to recycle and repurpose materials we find around town or on craigslist. We have a 3500 watt generator that will run all our power tools and even the AC in the hot Texas summers. We have a 12v setup to run lights at night without the roar of the generator.
