This is a great cover of the widley know Pink Floyd song See Emily Play. Three To One were from Canada and this 45 was released around the same time as Pink Floyd's. This version has a bit more of a Garage feel to it, but none the less a very nice cover. To my knowledge this was their one 45.

  • is this comped at all?

  • Not to my knowledge on CD but this 45 has just been reissued in it's exact form on the "Garage Great" series, you can get it for $10 bucks or under pretty much at any cool music store.

  • I seriously doubt the authenticity of this...

  • What do you mean?

  • Not as good as the original, or Bowie's cool 1973 vesion, but a treat nevertheless, a fun relic from that Best Era Ever, the Psychedelic Sixties, for those of us who got to ExPeRiEnCe it. Thanks, young Psychedelic Guy, for carrying on the torch, there's hope yet cuz of hipsters like you!

  • The best version ever. People like Bowie and other rock musicians have to add their musician touch to remakes and ruin them. The Three To One redo it straight to the point. That's why '60s garage bands are so good to listen to. Good post.

  • It sounds like Norman Wisdom on crack....

  • This is not bad, and it is a difficult song to cover, but a reminder that without the genius of Norman Smith the original single could have sounded like this..

  • theres a other canadian version from 1967 , from this group

the golden ring very obscure version i post it in my channel in the next weeks .

    thanks

    mike

  • I Like it , better then half the covers I;ve heard .

  • Never beats the original song.

  • sounds like the Bee Gees! not bad though.

  • My uncle Derek Norris just found out this was on You Tube - its awesome! He is the bass player in 'Three to One' Too Cool :)

  • @sneakyrabbits Some groups cover songs without changing a thing, but if I don't like the sound of it, I prefer the original. Every song has to be judged separately. It's not the same for all covers. Have a good day.

  • @sneakyrabbits I like the way the vocals sound better. I prefer this version and that's why I like it. I don't like The Pink Floyd's vocals on it. Sometimes a group can do the cover almost exact, but it's produced better, the overall sound. And for crying out loud, we are talking about old Garage bands that had 15 year old kids in them starting playing music for kicks and girls hoping to make it big. Read the musician comment I made above. They do a great job for young kids!

  • @monkeeman1966 soooo you prefer covers that sound nearly exactly like the original?? Why not just listen to the original? I like covers that try to put their on spin on something. Even if I don't like the cover, I have more respect for a group doing his own thing than just trying to imitate another group.
