@ETHANGELIST YES, that is AWESOME what you just said, i agree and have been saying the SAME exact thing, they HAVE to exalt creatures so they can get away with SOME of the exalted language that is used of Christ,e ven though it does not work. They also give the word "God" a VERY LOOSE meaning as to hide that Christ is truly deity, they say everyone are/will be gods. we will have life in ourselves as God does when He returns, thus we r gods...........heretical.
-
@SolaScriptura21 Yeah exactly. They're polytheists and they don't know it. And they have no problem in giving glory to a creature and taking away from Yahweh's glory. They turn a creature into the only way for salvation, they put their faith in a creature and they make out that a creature can be worshiped and can be the Creator. Blasphemy.
-
@ETHANGELIST especially arians, they throw the scriptures out of harmony like none other. They make 2 Gods that are equal with one another, but will only acknowledge one.
-
@SolaScriptura21 I knew you were Trinitarian from your name haha. It is very rare for Arians or Oneness to be so serious about the authority of Scripture, because Scripture refutes their own beliefs.
-
@ETHANGELIST ya, that was my bad, i read your post to fast, as i was in a hurry, and realized after i posted my comment that you didnt say what i thought you said, my bad.
-
@SolaScriptura21 I'm a Trinitarian by the way. "The Son of God" does mean equally with God.
-
@ETHANGELIST the question is, did the jews stone/try to kill all these "rebellious sons" who were simply trying to be independant as this video claims?
-
You could be right Ivan. And Jesus knew what was on their minds, so He corrects their thoughts by saying:
" Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. " (Jn 5:19, NASB)
Therefore saying He is not the rebellious Son at all. He is in perfect harmony with the Father's will.

Even if this "equality" is the sort of which the trinitarians talk about, verse 19 has Jesus responding to the charge by saying that the Son can do nothing by his own initiative, but rather immitates the working of the Father. This rendering right there is not random with respect to the charge.
One thing that was left out here was that the Jews were seeking to Kill him for this. When Jesus said --'My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working. He was "associating" himself with God. In that culture and that time and even with Arabian culture, such is blasphemy. God "can't" have that type of "associating", in context it is the 'work' that Jesus said he himself was doing. So it goes much further then this video suggests.

@babystinky What the video suggests is that Jesus' claim to be God's Son was, in the Jewish view of the first century, blasphemous to make such a claim.
