  • @pentu888 You're not completely right. Sometimes, a spontaneous mutation of a gene or chromosome can cause a birth defect without any of your 'causes.' Ectrodactyly is one of those birth defects, and it's been around since 1805. It also appears in several animal/bird species, so it's NOT always caused by your above-mentioned comments.

  • Birth defects are also caused by gmos, pesticides and other toxic substances. Poor nutrition of the mother and ot father prior to and during pregnancy can also be a factor, as can starvation of grandparents etc. When a doctor says genetic is the reason few if any will acknowledge that poor nutrition is the cause.
