The songs back then had truly beautiful lyrics (with actual words and not some made up noises!) - where has the talent gone? Love this song. The video is pretty liberating as well. Unfortunately we can't really dance on the roads like that - too many people spit and piss on them! =D

This song was so big in 1986 when I started my studies at IIT Madras. As a Tamilian who grew up in the north, I had little familiarity with Tamil film music. This song and other songs of that time period started my love for Tamil film music. To this date, Ilaya Raja music of the 1980s has a special place in my heart.
