I have often thought that it would be a good idea, if all the people who like the idea of driving cars in the Netherlands, swap with all the people who like riding bicycles in Australia, or the USA, and we could go there and you could come over here, thereby everyone will be happy! From everything I have seen you guys support cycling and we dont, I would trade countries, in a heartbeat!

I'd hate that too, man (lol).

They still do that here too. In the Netherlands they tend to overdo things though.
-
I would hate that. At least in America they have to catch you the old fashioned way
-
they use stationary devices here EVERYWHERE.

Oh, if you do it right from the start, you'll get away with it for not more than 80 euros in Belgium.

how do they time you over such a distance? they must use some type of built in stationary devices. Luckily, in the USA, no cop, no ticket.
Awesome drive. Impressive architecture along the way as well. I heard that you have to pay over 1000 euros for a drivers license. Is that true?

That's true, it cost me about 1500 euros to get one, and I got it rather fast for Dutch standards. Driving lessons are like € 35 - 40 and you need to take at least like 30 - 40 of them. Add costs for the practice and theory exams, administrative costs etc, and you're easily in the 1500 - 2000 range.

very nice roads and fantastic lane discipline. you were not the fastest car on the track.

The part between 3:00 and 5:00 has a very strictly enforced speed limit of only 80 km/h called "section control". Your average speed is calculated over this stretch.
