@MsPollywogg There are 2 sides to polygamy. There is the FLDS side of horror, forced marriage, rape and so much more. Then there is AUB (I believe is the correct one) beliefs of Mormon, like Kody Brown on Sister Wives. Their marriage(s) are loving and consensual, oh and all parties are of age and NOT related! Polygamists like Kody Brown and his 4 wives, I will stand behind because it is out of love, you can totally love more than one person! However, Warren Jeffs and the FLDS, HAH! not at all.

@StageSingers I've been conversing with a pro polygamous person here who implied something about Mormon polygamy, however my close Mormon friends concur with your statement. I grew up in Flagstaff & the kids used to talk about all the scary stuff going on in Colorado City, used to freak me out. Then I met Flora Jessop 20 years ago & heard her story & it was what I heard as a child growing up. I just don't see why the Utah side is not doing more to stop their actions... I'm willing to help.

Definitely NOT ACCEPTED by the mainstream LDS church. Saying this is good for the LDS is like saying the Catholic pedophile priest scandal was good for the Anglican church. I've lived in Utah since 1994&until I read Carolyn Jessop's book I thought the worst thing about the FLDS is that you had to marry young&share your husband. Regular LDS are as clueless as anyone outside the Utah/Arizona area&even then it was always assumed they were good quiet people like the Amish.

@eyeswideopen1993 wow... i did not think the LDS was allowing for this, even under wraps, but I've been finding more and more instances where this is accepted by the mainstream LDS... i've always wondered why the LDS weren't more interested in social action to stop what the FLDS is doing... i guess there is an underlying belief that it's OK and they are more interested in reaching out to the world through their missionary work than worrying about these offshoots that were born of them
