Its a sweet bread from Japan and China. Made "from an enriched dough covered in a thin layer of crispy cookie dough. Their appearance resembles a melon, such as a rock melon."

It doesnt actually taste like melon. Its yummy!

The melon pan I have had in okinawa are all filled with a melon...paste/creamy jelly?...usually tastes like honeydew. and then justlike above with the green cookie top.

Really? Interesting. What I had in Hekinan didnt taste like melon at all. I guess there's just different kinds. ^_^

Te one you ate is major kind od Melonpan. Originally is doesn't contain melon. But recently some melonpan contain melon.I like both type.

melon bread. though it rarely has melon in it.
pan = bread
its bread with cookie dough on top!
